Research papers can be simply defined as writing that presents information and indicates where the information comes from. There are three basic types of research writing; first, writing summary, second, research report, and third, science report. Key details are normally presented within summary writing to support the given main ideas. Unlike summary writing, research report provides information derived from a number of sources. And science report is made to present a firsthand account of observation or experiment which usually contains two forms; observation report and laboratory report.
Research papers are often called as academic essay by college students. There are three basic steps by which individual college students can get started with such academic essay writing. The first step is to choose the research topic for essay. Requirement of academic tasks normally decide a particular topic of essay to work out. Yet, if this comes to be a free choice for students, they can start with listing general topics of the subject given. Afterwards, we can determine which outmost interesting topic we would like to write about.
The second step of essay writing is to research the relevant sources related to the topic chosen. The research can be based on two choices; primary sources and secondary sources.
